Match report ...

On a glorious summer evening, the village cricket team took on the Pinewood Extras.  The Extras batted first and racked up an impressive 171 for 3 wickets.

In reply the village were initially up with the run rate thanks to Tom Swann and Harrison Baker, who both retired having scored over 25 runs.

Wickets then tumbled and the village team eventually finished on 149.

It was lovely to see so many villagers enjoying the evening and supporting the team.  Thanks go to all those who played and to Pinewood for hosting the game and supplying the very welcome hot dogs and beers afterwards.

Len Francis has left Bourton after 21 years!

Len was a Parish Councillor and also a member of the Village Hall Committee and could often be found running the bar at any Village event!

Len has moved to a lovely flat in a brand new retirement complex not far away so I'm sure he'll come back and visit us often!

Good Luck Len!

Bourton Parish Boundary Walk
Rogation Sunday 10th May 2015

56 people aged from 13mths to 81 years turned up for our 11th walk to beat the bounds of our parish.
9 year old, Summer, was traditionally swung over the water’s edge for luck at the start.
The weather was perfect for walking and very good under foot too.
Wildlife was in abundance and for some of us, the first time this year, the Cuckoo was heard.
The horn was sounded at all four points of the boundary. At the most southerly point Tom and Margaret were waiting for us with refreshments which were greatly appreciated.
We made our way back to the Village Hall for Stuart’s delicious lunch,  all participants were presented with badges and pink ribbon to celebrate the birth of HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
Thanks to: Farmers and Landowners. The Bourton Village Hall Committee, Tom and Margaret, Stuart, Marion and Pat for your help in the kitchen and all those who gave raffle prizes. You all contributed to a successful day. Thank you.
